  • Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Monitoring and controlling mission critical applications and systems in order to provide high availability of service to our customers in accordance with the established processes, procedures and requirements
    • Resolving problems by investigating and devising solutions for systems/operations. Activities include and are not limited to conducting or participating in installations, configuration setups, error message handling, testing solutions, operational procedures
    • Designing, developing and testing supporting tools to aid in problem management analysis
    • Analysing detail systems factors: input/output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, alternative approaches, etc.
    • Preparing and maintaining documentation for systems/applications deployment, support and operation
    • Participating in system/network projects/enhancements by representing the department and providing technical advice/ solutions ensuring adherence to documented processes and procedures and risk mitigation efforts
    • Reviewing complex problem situations, including via on-call, and identifying preventive measures and improvements to processes, procedures, or tools and implementing these as required
    • Interacting with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development in order to restore availability of services and/or identify root cause of complex problems

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • University degree in IT / Engineering or equivalent

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a Technical Support environment including software development/debugging and problem analysis in supporting mission critical applications and services
    • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in administration/ management of High Available mission critical Oracle Database(s) is a plus

    Professional Knowledge and Skills:

    • Very good problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written English
    • Disciplined and process oriented attitude
    • Analytical and methodical in problem investigations and approach
    • Ability to work under pressure and part of a multicultural team

    Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • OS: HP-UNIX - DB : Proficient working knowledge of Oracle DB and associated tools (e.g. OEM)
    • Programming languages: C/C++, Java, scripting languages (ksh, Perl) is a plus
