    Interface Applications is looking for a Java database developer, with clear affinity and interest in the persistency layer,  to  strengthen the Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH) development team. The team is comprised of more than 30 professionals, organized in sub teams, and is responsible for delivering scalable, high quality, secure and mission critical financial software to the global financial industry.

    Operation within an Agile software development team, you assume following responsibilities:


    • You design, develop and test application code, contributing to the J2EE messaging application, with focus on areas with strong dependencies on the database and/or the persistency layer.


    • You design, write and test user-friendly scripts and code around database administration, for integration in SWIFT software.


    • You provide database related support and expert guidance towards development teams and/or customer-facing teams. This includes database architecture, sizing, and performance tuning aspects.


    • You manage the non-production Oracle databases, used to develop and test SWIFT software, in all their aspects: design, installation, security patching, sizing, regular maintenance. This includes, keeping the database of a performance lab up-to-date.


    • Ability to structure problem investigation activities, and identify and progress solution paths.




    Education & experience


    Below is what you will be exposed to on a day to day basis, if you have least 2 of the below points we can help bring you upto speed with the rest.



    • In-depth knowledge and hands-on development experience of complex Java J2EE applications.


    • Experienced SQL & PL/SQL


    • SQL tuning: being able to identify and handle SQL performance issues.


    • Oracle EE database 11.2 (and above), and initial experience in DB administration (install, upgrade, patch, configure, backup/restore, monitor, …) and DB tuning, with and without the use of Oracle Enterprise Manager.





    Supporting skills


    These are not essential, but if you have any of the below it will be easier to settle into the team, we will help you learn the points you are missing.


    • Familiar with software development tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Git ) and environments (VM, Docker, Linux, Network)


    • Pre-knowledge of Oracle multi-tenancy, Oracle Advanced Queuing, RAC, Data-Guard is a plus.


    • Result driven and willing to take ownership.


    • Good communication skill (written and spoken) in English is an asset.


    • Team player, willing to work in a multicultural environment with a positive "can do" mentality.
