Standards are a cornerstone of the financial industry. They provide a common language for international financial messaging which is unambiguous and machine-readable, enabling efficient automation, thereby reducing costs and mitigating risks. Within SWFT’s Marketing division, the SWIFT Standards team develops financial messaging standards with and for the community.

ISO 20022 is rapidly becoming the standard language of financial transactions worldwide. We are currently evolving and developing ISO 20022 messaging and API models, as well as products and tools, to support today’s and tomorrow’s financial business. We are at the early stages of a global programme to migrate all cross-border payments and reporting messages from MT to ISO 20022, throughout the SWIFT community, by November 2025. This is by far the biggest and most ambitious change management programme that SWIFT Standards has taken on; and we need top talent to join the team to help make it happen. This is your opportunity to help us shape SWIFT future.

The Standards Products team drives the definition of commercial initiatives around standards including MyStandards and SWIFT Translator, designed to help the financial community to implement and handle standards efficiently. More than 45.000 users are currently registered on MyStandards, consuming more than 24.000 specifications by some 130 publishing organisations.
