    Standards are a cornerstone of the financial industry. They provide a common language for international financial messaging which is unambiguous and machine-readable, enabling efficient automation, thereby reducing costs and mitigating risks. Within SWFT’s Marketing division, the SWIFT Standards team develops financial messaging standards with and for the community.

    ISO 20022 is rapidly becoming the standard language of financial transactions worldwide. We are currently evolving and developing ISO 20022 messaging and API models, as well as products and tools, to support today’s and tomorrow’s financial business. We are at the early stages of a global programme to migrate all cross-border payments and reporting messages from MT to ISO 20022, throughout the SWIFT community, by November 2025. This is by far the biggest and most ambitious change management programme that SWIFT Standards has taken on; and we need top talent to join the team to help make it happen.     The Standards Products team drives the definition of commercial initiatives around standards including MyStandards and SWIFT Translator, designed to help the financial community to implement and handle standards efficiently. More than 45.000 users are currently registered on MyStandards, consuming more than 24.000 specifications by some 130 publishing organisations.


    We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing savvy professional, with interest in go-to-market activities, in driving requirements and commercial discussions to drive the evolution of our Standards Products portfolio which include the MyStandards product suite, SWIFT Translator and the integration between the two. This includes:

    • Market analysis and consultation with commercial teams and customers, identifying and understanding customer requirements for our products.


    • Drive all the communication aspects related to the commercialization of our portfolio including the production of collateral, communications pieces, and multi-channel communications such as brochures, videos, marketing campaigns and advertising.


    • Work closely with other Communications partners in the department or the division to coordinate and roll-out global communications activities.


    • Ensure our products can timely support SWIFT and market driven initiatives. This entails: understand the initiative and its use case for our client base, evaluate the impact to support the initiative and integrate the requirements in our roadmap to ensure supportability prior to the go-live.


    • Liaise with other divisions/departments, customers, vendors, industry associations and make presentations.


    • Keep abreast with trends in the industry and share information with other divisions/departments.



    For this position, we are looking for a Product/Market Manager who has good mix of business understanding and technological savviness: to work on the development of our portfolio:

    • Flexibility/adaptability as we need to react quickly to identified opportunities;


    • Business acumen: the job will include many customer contacts and will require a good understanding of the issues they face;


    • Excellent communication and writing skills: modifies communication style to optimize understanding by others; acknowledges and respects other views;


    • Customer orientation: making customers and their needs a primary focus;


    • Ability to create and develop a strong external/internal network, developing and sustaining productive customer relationships;


    • Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading), additional languages are an asset;


    • Experience in standards related matters or financial software business is a key asset;


    • Experience with SWIFT standards, interface products, messaging and message flows is a plus;


    • Agile experience is a plus.


    University degree.


    3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
