    Since its official launch in 2017, SWIFT gpi (global payments innovation), on its way to become the new norm for cross-border payments, has been adopted at an unprecedented pace by the banks and their corporate clients. SWIFT gpi is a service that ensures cross-border payments are fast, trackable across multiple banks in real time, and delivers confirmation when the beneficiary account is credited.

    SWIFT gpi is a highly strategic initiative, for which we have high ambitions going forward in terms of product roadmap and service evolution. 

     

    SWIFT gpi will continue to be about reach and live adoption, with more and more traffic turning gpi as banks are massively joining. In parallel, SWIFT gpi will evolve towards more sophisticated value-add features, going into the longer-term direction of a true API-based platform.

     

    To help us achieve such ambitions, we look for a gpi sales expert, who will support EMEA in delivering the operating plans for gpi in the coming years, and contribute to this major transformation in the payments landscape.

    Responsibilities

    You will drive SWIFT's commercial development in SWIFT gpi, supporting several sales teams across EMEA. You will be accountable for achieving challenging sales objectives, defining and executing go-to-market and commercial plans in collaboration with relationship managers, collecting market needs and feeding Marketing experts with service evolution ideas and contribute to thought leadership on the evolution of the payments business.

    The position is based in La Hulpe (BE).

     

    You are expected to:

    • Contribute to the definition, developement and execution of EMEA commercial strategy and plans for gpi, in collaboration with the local sales teams for the given market, in order to achieve targeted sales objectives.
    • Act as a single point of contact and gpi expertise for large clients
    • Promote SWIFT in order to position gpi, participate to local events, forums and market place working groups.
    • Liaise with other SWIFT divisions / departments (mainly Marketing, Consultants, Product Managers and our gpi colleagues in APAC and EMEA) and of course with the sales teams (account managers, technical experts...) in order to provide internally a coordinated service, integrated solution and feedback on market intelligence, resolve product gaps and other relevant information.
    • Identify customer needs / market opportunities and work with the marketing/product colleagues to build on such findings in order to contine to improve gpi.
    • Maintain/enhance skills and knowledge around gpi itself, the payments market, innovation, competition and regulatory trends and contribute to thought leadership efforts.
    • Share your gpi and relevant knowledge with team members, Marketing colleagues and EMEA sales staff. Collaboration is key in this role!

    Qualifications

    • You have a first experience in the payments business and a good understanding of correspondent banking (at least 5 years)
    • You are an ambitious sales person, thrilled by building customer trust and closing deals.
    • You are open minded and a good networker (internal and external).
    • You are able to engage at senior customer levels
    • You are a good communicator and able to present and negotiate effectively
    • You are a team player, collaborator.
    • You are fluent in English. Other European languages such as Dutch, German, French, Spanish are strong assets.
    • You are flexible in terms of travelling (up to 50%)
    • You are autonomous, capable of thinking out of the box and capturing (unaddressed) customer needs
