    About the role

    SWIFT is expanding its North American Business Development team. An integral part of this effort is to hire a relationship manager in the North American Banking team. In this role, the individual will grow existing relationships to increase awareness of SWIFT’s service offering and to maximize revenue opportunities. This position reports to the head of Banking Business Development, North America and is based in New York. The individual will be focused on building client relationships, executing a vision around strategic initiatives, and driving sales success throughout the portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    Overall responsibilities include:

     

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities by establishing, maintaining, and enhancing long-term relationships
    • Deliver on overall revenue budget for assigned portfolio
    • Identify customer needs/market opportunities and grow revenue share across the portfolio
    • Liaise and coordinate with other SWIFT divisions/departments such as product management, technical services, events, marketing, etc.
    • Acquire and maintain market, product, and services knowledge
    • Some domestic travel may be required with some international traveling opportunities.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
    • 3+ years of experience working in a corporate or commercial bank, consulting firm, or a payments vendor working in the cash management or trade finance space
    • Demonstrable history of building long-term relationships with customer satisfaction and client retention
    • Ability to work well in a changing environment while maintaining discipline to achieve goals
    • Polished presentation, interpersonal and networking skills
    • Keen to learn and willing to get involved in a wide variety of projects
    • Passionate self-starter with the drive to achieve and surpass objectives

     

     

    Ideal candidates will have:

    • Relationships in the North American banking and payments industry
    • Understanding SWIFT’s role within the banking industry
    • Experience in sales, product management, or operations
    • Insights and opinions into the use of financial technologies such as APIs, Blockchain/DLT, AI, machine learning, etc.
    • Knowledge of correspondent banking, payments, trade finance, financial crime compliance
