    Working within the division of Operations, the Deployment Planning Coordinator (DPC) is responsible for owning the project planning and coordination of all phases and activities involved in the release of systems, software and infrastructure into the SWIFT Production environment. Providing project management oversight from early deployment specification, the DPC oversees projects through closeout for planning and coordination, reporting, forecasting, and implementation.

     

    With minimal oversight from more senior/Lead staff, the person in this role will not only assist in multiple functions related to project planning and coordination but shall run independent end-to-end projects handling all facets of the life cycle to ensure successful deployments in the Production environments. Some training of other DPC staff is expected.

     

    This role facilitates project-related meetings and working with virtual teams, develops the deployment strategy and Deployment Plan based on input from multiple stakeholders within various portfolio teams. A primary deliverable of this role is to identify and document scope, schedule, priorities, conflicts, dependencies, risks and risk mitigation for the entire Production Operations deployment life-cycle.

     

    This position requires a strong rapport with numerous SWIFT business units in order to ensure successful working relationships in the smooth and effective delivery of technology solutions based on business requirements.

     

    When assigned, the DPC is also responsible for the various aspects of computer floor management for the global SWIFT Production environment (refer to "key responsibilities").

     

    Responsibilities

    • Focusing on the scheduling, coordination, support, communication and end-to-end oversight of deployments in the Production environment

    •  Organize large amounts of data/activities; presenting status in a clear, concise, accurate, and consistent manner.

    •  Manage the overall project site and data within Production Operations.

    •  Support and advise on schedule performance, forecasts, risks, tracking, analyzing and reporting project schedule data ensuring that issues and risks are managed and understood to mitigate any scope deliverables and schedule delays.

    •  Establish, monitor and input activities, relationships, and resources into scheduling package to support a resource loaded schedule.

    • Responsible for project reporting to include preparing necessary status reports, preparing project data for project meetings, and ensuring timely collection and interpretation of schedule data within the project database. Inform, network and interface with all relevant parties on a needs-basis ensuring they are aware of project progress.

    • Responsible for working with the project team and creating the detailed deployment strategy and Deployment Plan and send refreshed information for assigned deployments to the project team and key stakeholders on an recurring basis.

    • Where necessary, facilitate design and planning sessions, and coordinate with teams to ensure ongoing progress toward scheduled deliverables. When needed, facilitate "Go/NoGo" discussions with appropriate stakeholders.

    • Lead virtual teams in developing needed presentations for project leadership to present technology options, as well as recommendations for risk mitigations and phased release plans.

    •  Provide ongoing assistance with delivery of project artefacts, as required by the Project Management Office in order to satisfy standard audit controls.

    •  Manage risks and make sure the project stays on track via pro-active management of the project and by taking corrective actions to resolve cross-departmental conflicts.

    •  As assigned, participate in planning of periodic Service Continuity / Disaster Recovery exercises to test the DR capabilities with respect to secondary systems and sites.

    •  Work closely with Change and Configuration Management team to stay current on all change, configuration and internal controls standards and processes. Provides feedback on ways to improve relevant processes and procedures.

    •  Collects feedback from the users of release management standards and identifies the need to modify or retire a standard based on the feedback.

    •  Work closely with the SWIFT Security and Audit teams to understand and implement required security & audit controls and provide documentation for risk assessments.

    •  Promote & Share project management best practices within the team and with others outside of our team including lessons learned.

    •  Contribute to asset management activities including support of other groups who are leading system installations/moves/decommissioning, recurring inventory audits, processing "move-add-change" forms (i.e. Handover Forms).

    Qualifications

    • University degree in IT or Project Management discipline or equivalent combination of qualification and experience. 
    • 3-8 years of relevant experience within the area of IT product/network development and/or area of similar complexity. 
    • Preferred 3-5 years of genuine IT project management following an official methodology (PMI, Prince2 or the Swift Encompass) 
    • Relevant experience in implementing highly scalable, high-performance secure data-center focused applications across multiple platforms 
    • Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills with strong attention to detail.
