In this capacity of a critical infrastructure for China, SWIFT works and partners with a wide array of industry stakeholders including banks (domestic, regional, global), corporates, financial market infrastructures, vendors and industry leadership groups (such as the central banks and other regulatory bodies).
To support in the acceleration of our China franchise, we are seeking a Director of Public Affairs and Communications, China reporting to Head of Public Affairs & Communications, Asia Pacific, with a dotted line to the CEO of China. The Communications Group delivers the strategy, plans and in-depth expertise to accelerate our market share and revenue in China, and across the Asia Pacific region. This group works closely with the Asia Pacific Payments & Trade, Capital Markets & Standards, Commercial Sales and Professional Services teams towards an aligned set of objectives. The team’s mission is to empower the business to be the natural partner for every community in which we serve.
In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with the business and defining strategic communication plans to support SWIFT’s stakeholder engagement across our business lines in China. You will also maintain a full range of proactive strategies across functions of marketing communications, strategic communications and public affairs to increase our brand awareness and positioning across targeted customer segments. Project management, execution and reporting of communications campaigns and projects is paramount in this role. Regional and global liaison with Regional Communications, Marketing Communications, and Corporate Communications and Media Relations partners will be required for the successful roll-out of communications activities in China.
> Design, build and execute the China communications strategy and plans by understanding customer problems and needs set, the competition and market trends, and the changing operating environment of China in the global markets.
> Curate content that is specific to China in the evidence of thought leadership pieces and case studies, with the use of channels that reach the target audiences identified in the communications strategy and plans.
> Engage the SWIFT community of industry stakeholders including banks, corporates, financial market infrastructures, vendors and industry leadership groups to identify mindshare gain for SWIFT as a critical financial industry partner to China.
> Represent and pitch SWIFT to media partners and industry forums related to SWIFT’s China business and thought leadership activities.
> Drive specific marketing and communications initiatives for China ensuring extensive collaboration across the SWIFT business in Asia Pacific and with the SWIFT global Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs groups
